The use of cookies can be prevented in the respective browser’s settings; however, this restricts Web site’s use under certain circumstances.

5.2. Our Web site uses Piwik, which involves a Web-analysis service. For this purpose, user in-formation that the Piwik cookie creates (including your abbreviated IP address) is trans-mitted to our server and stored for usage-analysis purposes. This enables us to optimize our Web site. Your IP address is immediately anonymized during this transaction so that you as a user remain anonymous. The information that the cookie creates about your use of this Web site is not disclosed to third parties.

6. Data security

The Internet is generally considered to be an insecure medium. Compared to the telephone line for example, an unauthorized third party can easily listen in on, record, or even change a data transmission in the internet. We employ so-called SSL encryption to guarantee the confidentiality of communication with you. The current state of knowledge thus makes it possible to consider 128-bit encryption as secure. All of the latest generation of browsers achieve this level of security. You should update the browser on your PC if necessary.

A firewall system prevents access from outside. Several levels of encryption and identifica-tion preclude unauthorized queries or the interception of customer data during transmission. Besides the Internet browser’s internal encryption process, we use still stronger encryption processes to preclude decryption by unauthorized persons.

With each access to a page on our Internet offering, the IP address of your requesting processor and your Internet service provider, date, duration, and clock time of the access, as well as the name of the file retrieved in addition to the data volume are stored in a protocol file.

7. Modification of the data privacy statement

The service provider constantly develops the choice on the Web site based on the users’ needs. Modifications to this data privacy statement can thus become necessary. You can inform yourself at the end of each page about the version of the data privacy statement currently in force.

8. Revocation of the use of your data

Consent to the use of your data on the service provider’s part can be revoked at any time via a brief, written message to the service provider, for example to datenschutz@abs-ag.com.
